LESSON PLAN
(PERIOD-WISE DISTRIBUTION) OF COURSE
Period Allotted (2 Theory + 1 Practical)
Period 1:- Greet the students and introduce the topic of databases. Explain the importance of databases in organizing and managing large amounts of information. Explain the purpose of Access in creating and managing databases. Tell them about features of the Access and its different components. Demonstrate how to create a new database in Access. Guide students through the process of naming and saving the database file. Familiarize students with the Access interface, including the Ribbon, Navigation Pane, and Quick Access Toolbar. Explain the purpose and functionality of each element.
Period 2:- Explain the purpose of tables in a database. Guide the students in creating a new table with relevant fields. Demonstrate how to set field properties (data types, field size, etc.). Emphasize the importance of choosing appropriate field names. Introduce the concept of primary keys and their role in uniquely identifying records in a table. Explain how to set a primary key for a table in Access. Explain Deleting records and exiting from Access. Tell them how to open an existing Database.
Period 3 (Practical):- Assign a small task for homework, such as adding additional records to the table. Encourage students to explore further and practice creating their own databases.
Notes:- The duration of each activity can be adjusted based on the pace and progress of the students. Additional activities or examples can be included to enhance the learning experience.
