OBJECTIVES:-

By the end of the chapter, students will be able to explain:-

  • Decimal number System
  • Binary Number System
  • Octal Number System
  • Hexadecimal number System
  • Computer Arithmetic


LESSON PLAN 

(PERIOD-WISE DISTRIBUTION OF COURSE)


Period Allotted (3 Theory + 1 Practical)


Period 1 (Introduction of Topic):-

  • Introduce the topic of the number system and why it is important to learn. 
  • Ask students what they already know about the number system used in computers. 
  • Explain the importance of understanding the binary number system and its relation to computer science. 
  • Introduce the binary number system and explain how it is different from the decimal number system.
  • Demonstrate how to convert binary numbers to decimal numbers and vice versa. 
  • Provide examples and have students practice.

Period 2:- 

  • Introduce the hexadecimal number system and explain its use in computer science.
  • Demonstrate how to convert hexadecimal numbers to decimal numbers and vice versa. Provide examples and have students practice. Discuss MSD and LSD. 
  • Also discuss arithmetic including Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and division.

Period 3( Practical):-

  • Ask the students to solve arithmetical operations given in lab activity.
  • The more they will practice the more concept will be clear to them.
