Theory 1:-
Introduction(30 Minutes): Introduction to Canvas
What is Canvas?
o Canvas is a graphic design platform that allows users to create
various designs like posters, presentations, and social media graphics.
Getting Started with Canvas:
How to Open Canvas:
o Go to www.canva.com in a web browser.
How to Sign Up:
o Click on 'Sign up'.
o Use an email address, Google account, or Microsoft account.
Navigating the Dashboard:
o Explore the Home Page: Templates, Projects, and Design Options.
Theory -2 (30 minutes):-
Exploring Canvas Elements:
Elements in Canvas:
o Text: Add and customize words.
o Images: Use photos from the library or upload your own.
o Shapes and Lines: For decoration and emphasis.
Templates in Canvas:
o Pre-made designs that can be edited.
How to Add Templates:
o Click on 'Templates'.
o Choose a category (e.g., Posters, Invitations).
Creating a Design:
How to Create a Design:
o Click on 'Create a design'.
o Choose custom dimensions or a pre-set size.
Steps to Make a Poster:
1. Select 'Poster' from the template options.
2. Add a background (solid colour, gradient, or image).
Working with Elements:
o How to Upload Elements:
Click on 'Uploads' and choose a file from your device.
o How to Search Elements:
Use the search bar to find images, shapes, or lines.
o Adding a Line:
Search 'Line' under 'Elements' and drag it to the design.
o Changing Line Weight and Style:
Select the line to adjust thickness and style (dotted, dashed, solid).

Give students creaive freedom while guiding them on basic design
principles.
Showcase a few completed posters to inspire others.
Use simple language and repeat key steps if needed.
Ensure each student gets a chance to share their work.

o Practice advanced Canva skills by creating a digital greating card.
Acivity Instrucions:
1. Design a "Thank You" card for a teacher or family member.
2. Include the following elements:
Title: "Thank You"
A hearfelt message (2-3 sentences).
Decoraive elements: Sickers, borders, or illustraions.
Use colour themes and font styles to enhance the design.
3. Save the card and present it to the class.
